Huawei Watch, Moto 360 Gen 2, and other watches should get Android Wear 2.0 by end of April or late May

We're impatiently waiting for Android Wear 2.0 to roll to some of the most popular watches released: the second generation Moto 360 and the Huawei Watch. There are also other watches that still haven't received the update and weeks are passing by quickly without a hint of when exactly we should expect the new firmware to hit.

Android Wear support forums' community manager Ernest has posted an update a few hours ago explaining the situation with the different Wear watches and their update timelines. He reiterated the watches that have already received the update, but most importantly, he said that the remaining models should receive their updates by end of April or late May.

Alphabet's health division Verily built a health-focused smartwatch with 1-week battery life (for science)

Google's Handwriting Keyboard for Android Wear 2.0 is now available on the Play Store

Google debuted Android Wear 2.0 at Google I/O last year with a number of great new features, not least of which was a clever spin on the handwriting keyboard. Oddly, the handwriting keyboard was left buried in a hard to find location and had to be activated just to use it. Now that the official Wear 2.0 release is rolling out (kinda), users have reported that this keyboard didn't even come preinstalled, nor could it be found on the Play Store – at least, not until yesterday. The Handwriting Keyboard is now available.

[Annoying] Play Music on Wear 2.0 does not support sideloading music from your phone

In Wear 2.0, Google is trying to make the watch more of a standalone device with its own version of the Play Store and apps that operate independent of your phone. However, that also means Play Music loses some features. It turns out you can't sync music from your phone to the watch in Wear 2.0, and downloads direct to the watch are very limited.
