Play Store v7.7 prepares to roll out new security features and split notification settings to a separate screen [APK Teardown]

Google is pushing out a new version of the Play Store for Android users around the world. Like most updates to this version, there really aren't any notable changes showing up already, but there are a few interesting things hidden beneath the hood. There are some new features focused on improving security for apps that are updated from unexpected sources and making its security scanner more visible to users. There's also a plan to move notification settings to their own dedicated screen.

Hasbro just released Hanazuki, an odd game about moons, moods, and magic

Hanazuki is a tie-in game offered by Hasbro in order to promote their new animated web series Hanazuki: Full of Treasures. A show aimed at the difficult to bridge tween girl entertainment market, there will obviously be a plethora of branded wares coming our way. Quirky platformer MouseBot is Vector Unit's latest offering for the casual and hardcore alike

Vector Unit has enjoyed a pretty good reputation on Android for a good while now. Not only have they released some pretty popular titles but they have also gone out of their way to support the Android platform more than most. Things like Play Games achievements, leaderboards, and cloud saving have all been a standard for the studio since their inception. Making sure to provide HID controller and Android TV support is also a big plus for them. When you take all of this into consideration, it is no surprise that they have gone on to perform exceedingly well, and deservedly so.

If you are saying to yourself - "hey, I saw this game in the Roundup yesterday" - you would be correct. The thing is, I felt it was worth putting in its own post as it is a pretty enjoyable experience. To be precise, it offers solid twin-stick shooter gameplay that focuses on giant mechs in outer space. Akin to many mech-themed TV shows and movies it is pretty obvious where the game's inspiration comes from. So what do you say, shall we dive in and see all there is to enjoy?

Nook 4.7 adds quote sharing, voice search, and several other improvements

I love reading — my house is filled with books that I obsessively collect. In the grand scheme of eBooks, I think that that Amazon Kindle has won the battle, but Barnes & Noble still holds on. Frankly, I cheer for Nook mostly because most of my digital library is there from my Nook Color/Nook Tablet days. All of that aside, the Android app has received an update to v4.7 after close to eight months of silence.

You can now make polls in Allo, but only for yes/no questions

Allo has steadily added more functionality since launch, including more chatbots. The first was Lucky, a bot that can search for GIFs from a given word or phrase. Another one has now appeared in Allo, allowing users to create polls.
